A Message From Austin

After many years of playing basketball in high school, college and overseas, I decided it was time to come back to my home town of Amarillo to teach the game that I love so much.

I wanted to educate the youth of West Texas that basketball is so much more than just a sport; it teaches determination, discipline, respect, motivation, positive attitude, and dedication. This is when I came up with the name “Austin Johnson’s Academy of Hoops.”

My ambition for this program is to help kids not only love the game and work hard, but establish these habits for the future, giving them the opportunity to succeed in their lifelong goals.

Austin Johnson

The purpose is simple: strengthen a player's game as well as their mental ability to accept challenges, and excel. We develop strong bodies and basketball IQ's, but more importantly, we help to develop the mental strength needed to succeed in this game, as well as other life challenges.
